In a conversation with Vechernyaya Moskva, he emphasized the importance of products that can prevent the development of atherosclerosis and support heart function.

Ginzburg noted that atherosclerosis is the main enemy of the cardiovascular system, leading to the blockage of blood vessels and the possible development of heart attack and other heart diseases.

For example, atherosclerosis can lead to a heart attack, the deadening of areas of the heart, or the development of cardiosclerosis, when the heart's muscle tissue is replaced by connective tissue, causing it to lose its functionality.

To keep your heart healthy, the specialist recommends including the following foods in your diet:

  • Fish, especially marine and fatty varieties;
  • Olive oil, replacing sunflower oil;
  • Legumes: chickpeas, lentils, beans (at least five servings per week);
  • Dairy products: kefir, ryazhenka, sugar-free yogurt (at least two products per day);
  • Vegetables and berries, preferably with every meal;
  • Spices: onions, garlic, turmeric, ginger, pepper.

These foods, according to Ginzburg, have anti-atherogenic effects, preventing cholesterol from settling on the walls of blood vessels. Some of them have an anti-inflammatory effect, others contain dietary fiber that helps reduce bad cholesterol. Berries, according to the doctor, contain natural salicylates, which prevent the development of atherosclerosis.

Recall that earlier the nutritionist pointed out how to choose good tangerines in the store.
