Scientists learned when coronavirus antibodies disappear

Canadian scientists have detected the disappearance of antibodies to coronavirus from the blood of those, who had been ill, in the third month.

According to a study published in “Blood”, doctors at the Hema-Quebec Blood Center in Canada found that antibodies to coronavirus begin to disappear from the blood of those who were ill after three months.

Scientists studied how quickly antibodies disappear from the human body, as primary studies showed that coronavirus interferes with the formation of cells that can produce antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 for a long time. Thus, natural development of collective immunity to coronavirus is impossible.

Canadian medics collected plasma with antibodies from 15 volunteers weekly and monitored how their concentration changed.

Observations showed that the concentration of antibodies in the body of former patients began to drop about 88 days after infection. After three or four months, they disappeared at all.

However, scientists emphasize that their study refers to antibodies obtained naturally. When vaccinated, immunity develops differently.
