Belarusians make Russian vaccinations against COVID-19

Spokeswoman for the Ministry of Health of Belarus Yulia Borodun announced the start of testing on volunteers of the Russian vaccine against COVID-19. The vaccination has already been made to two Belarusians.

"In Belarus, from Thursday, October 1, vaccination against coronavirus began. Doctors use the Russian vaccine “Sputnik V”. The first two people were vaccinated in the 28th city clinic in Minsk," said Yulia Borodun in a comment to RIA News.

Research on the Russian vaccine against COVID-19 will be held in eight medical centers in Belarus. More than 4,000 Belarusians wanted to get the vaccine, while so far 100 volunteers will receive the vaccine, as previously reported by the acting head of the Ministry of Health of Belarus Dmitry Pinevich.

To take part in the test of the “Sputnik V” vaccine, you need to fit several criteria. First of all, age compliance is important: a person must be at least 18 and no older than 60 years. In addition, it is extremely important that the participant has not previously been ill with coronavirus.

Alexander Ginzburg, head of the National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology named after Academician N.F. Gamaleya, previously spoke about the principle of testing a vaccine against COVID-19. Volunteers are not informed whether they are given a vaccine or a placebo. The doctor also should not know what the patient receives.
