Russians are buying instant noodles less often.
In Russia in January-March 2023, sales of instant noodles decreased by 9.5% year-on-year in units. However, in monetary terms sales of the product increased by 11%, according to Kommersant.
Sales of all convenience foods at the beginning of the year decreased by 12.8% in units, and in money terms increased by 3.9%.
Experts noted that the convenience foods market has been growing in crises. According to manufacturers, this is due to the recovery of demand after the rush.
Last year, sales of instant noodles in Russia amounted to 14.6 servings per capita per year, which is higher than in the United States, but far from the volumes of Asian countries.
