In Russia the minimum retail price for vodka will increase in 2023. A 0.5-liter bottle will cost 281 rubles. TASS wrote about it, referring to the order of the Ministry of Finance. Cognac will go up in price to 517 rubles.

Russia now sets minimum retail prices for spirits, sparkling wines and champagne. The minimum price for vodka is 261 rubles, cognac - 480 rubles, and brandy - 348 rubles.

The Ministry of Finance has been establishing minimum prices for spirits since 2009 in order to fight illegal producers.

It was previously reported that sparkling wine will become more expensive on January 1, 2023. The minimum price of 0.75 liter will be 239 rubles, i.e. it will increase by 41.4%, last year it cost 169 rubles.

The minimum wholesale and retail prices for sparkling wine will also increase: to 169 rubles from 118 rubles and to 199 rubles from 139 rubles respectively.

It was also planned to introduce a minimum retail price for wine. Businessmen support the proposal. In their opinion, the price of wine cannot be lower than the one set for champagne.
