The US Treasury Department announced a ban on gold imports from Russia.
According to information published on the official website, the United States Treasury Department has announced a ban on imports of Russian gold. The exception applies to gold that is currently outside the borders of the Russian Federation.
"Imports into the United States of gold of Russian origin are prohibited, except as required by law," the statement said.
At the same time, gold can be imported into the United States under a special license, which will be issued in some cases by the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Treasury Department.
It is also reported that the US Treasury Department has issued licenses for the gradual elimination of contracts with Russian companies, hit by Western sanctions. It is about Nord Gold and Severstal PJSC.
