Prices for berries and fruit have increased significantly in Russia over the year. The price increase amounted to 26%. At the same time, the number of purchases in this category increased by 20%.
The average check when buying berries and fruits in January-April amounted to Br306. This is 26% more than in 2024.
Berries and fruits are leading the price increase in the food market. Vegetables rose in price by 15%, bread - by 13%, and confectionery became more expensive by 5%. This was reported by “Kommersant”.
According to the “Chek Index”, the average check for groceries has increased by Br1.9 thousand (+8%) over the year.
General Director of FruitNews Irina Kozii said that prices in the category of fruit and vegetable products increased by an average of 20-55% over the year. The increase in cost was influenced by the rise in prices for plant protection products and fertilizers, the increase in production costs and the rise in the cost of labor by 1.5 times at least.
