The Central Bank is creating a mechanism to combat financial fraudsters
The Central Bank is developing a credit antifraud system. This was reported to "Rossiyskaya Gazeta" in the press service of the regulator.
Its purpose is to combat fraudsters and the execution of loans under their influence. Experts believe that this will have a positive impact on the market and will protect Russians.
It is specified that the mechanism will include a "cooling off period", that is, when the loan is approved, but the money can be issued or transferred after a certain period of time.
The Bank of Russia explained that the suspension of the transfer of money will be in respect of a large amount. So far, its size has not been determined.
Antifraud will include measures to prevent fraudulent transactions. These are automated programs that will evaluate transfers according to certain criteria. In case of suspicious transactions, there will be a more thorough check that will block or authorize the operation.
In the press service of the regulator explained that the time between approval and the issuance of money will allow a person to make a balanced and informed decision on the need to take a loan.
According to the Central Bank, attackers stole from Russians 15.8 billion rubles in 2023.
