Russia is making a « knight move» in the «chess game with sanctions», because it is adapting to them. An article with relevant content was published in the French Le Monde.
"The great painful chess game of sanctions could drag on for a long time. Russia is making a move with its knight," Le Monde writes.
The newspaper notes that the Russian economy has managed to adapt to many of the sanctions restrictions. It happened despite the numerous statements of the Western media about the default of the country.
Also, as the author of the article notes, it is obvious that the revenues of the Russian Federation are growing significantly after the rise in oil and gas prices. Moreover, the frozen Central Bank reserves of $300 billion also played their role.
Le Monde concludes that even despite the planned oil embargo, the Russian Federation will be able to use the opportunity to compensate for about forty percent of the European embargo.
