The largest brick manufacturer, the Austrian concern Wienerberge, has sold its factories in Russia. They were purchased by Alexei Filin, a businessman from Bryansk who owns the Stroymiks firm. He already has assets in the construction industry, RBC wrote.
Wienerberger sold two factories, which are located in Tatarstan and in the Vladimir region. The Austrian company decided to leave the Russian market in 2022 due to a special operation.
A representative of Wienerberge said that structuring the deal was complicated in the face of constantly changing legislation. The parties did not disclose the price of the deal.
Wienerberger produces bricks and ceramic building blocks. The first plant of the concern in Russia was opened in the Vladimir region in 2004, the second - in Tatarstan in 2008. Both plants produced 450 million conventional bricks per year.
Last year the revenue of the plant in Vladimir region amounted to 1.5 billion rubles, net profit - 83 million rubles. The plant in Tatarstan brought in 906 million rubles, net profit - 114, 9 million rubles.
In total, Wienerberger Concern has about 200 plants in 28 countries. In 2023, the company's revenue amounted to 4.2 billion euros, profit - 334.4 million euros.
