Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic informed about this. According to him, active negotiations are currently underway with representatives of the Russian Federal Atomic Energy Agency regarding the construction of a nuclear power plant on Serbian territory.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic stated that his country is considering the project of a nuclear power plant on its territory and is currently negotiating with the State Atomic Energy Corporation "Rosatom".
According to RIA Novosti, ten billion dollars are needed to build the first Serbian nuclear power plant. This is a serious sum for Belgrade. By the way, this is exactly how much it took for the Belarusian NPP, which Moscow allocated as a soft loan.
As noted, today Russia does not have the opportunity to act according to the methods of the USSR, when the countries that were related to the Warsaw bloc were practically flooded with money. But, given the fact that the life of the nuclear power plant is at least fifty years, it is likely that the Ministry of Finance and the State Atomic Energy Corporation "Rosatom" will find proposals that will suit both parties.
