The achieved daily record of Russian gas supplies to China was noted on January 24 in a message from Gazprom on the official Telegram channel.
The energy holding said: "On January 18, a new absolute daily record was documented for gas supplies from Russia to China under the bilateral long-term contract between Gazprom and CNPC.
It is worth recalling that pipeline gas is supplied to China via the Power of Siberia gas pipeline. After the launch in late 2019 of the first section from the Chayandinskoye field (Yakutia) to the PRC border near Blagoveshensk, which is about 2200 km long, in early 2023 the second section, almost 800 km long from the Kovyktinskoye field to the Chayandinskoye field will be launched.
Under the terms of the contract between Gazprom and CNPC China National Petroleum Corporation, it is planned to gradually increase annual deliveries to the design capacity of 38 billion cubic meters by 2025, and in future it is planned to supply up to 44 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
