In the first month of the year, the average chicken egg cost RUB 12.8 per piece in government procurement, while in April - RUB 11.9.
Prices for chicken eggs in Russia have fallen by 12.4% since the beginning of this year. Such data was provided by the search and analytical system of tender management “Tenderplan”, writes “Gazeta.Ru”.
At the same time, the number of state purchases of products in January-May increased by 47.06%. Thus, the average cost of one hen's egg in January and April in public procurement is compared. Its decrease was recorded.
In the first month of the year, the average cost of a hen's egg in public procurement amounted to RUB 12.8 per piece, while in April - RUB 11.9.
The number of state purchases of chicken eggs in the first five months of the year has increased significantly compared to the same period last year. From January to May 2023, there were 2,858 state purchases for RUB 1.7 billion, while in the same months of this year - 3,393 state purchases for RUB 2.5 billion.
Maxim Kuznetsov, general director of Tenderplan, said that a number of measures were introduced to solve the problem with the sharp rise in prices for chicken eggs: abolition of duties on imports, increase in production, support for poultry farms, limiting the markup and others.
In April, economist Andrei Loboda gave a forecast that eggs in Russia would still fall in price by up to 3%
