The main point of import of live Russian Kamchatka crabs was the Shanghai fishing port. About 2.3 thousand tonnes of crabs were delivered there. The total import of live seafood increased by 5.3 times in comparison with the previous year.
Alexander Savelyev, head of the Fisheries Information Agency, said that the increase in supply had an impact on prices. That is why the rate of increase in value is lower than the rate of increase in kind.
- Kamchatka crab is shipped to Shanghai three days after it is caught. It has a high survival rate," explains Saveliev.
