Gas supplies to Moldova may stop after 48 hours. This will happen, as the official representative of the company Sergey Kupriyanov said, due to the lack of payment under the current contract.
In a conversation with NTV, Kupriyanov noted that Moldova has a very difficult situation in economic and financial terms.
“... Gazprom made a decision to sign the contract practically on the terms of the Moldovan side, but with an essential and important point: Moldova makes 100% of the current payments for gas on time,” a company spokesman said.
As specified, the next deadline for current payments was set for November 22. As a result, Gazprom, according to the contract, informed the Moldovan side that gas supplies to Moldova would be stopped in 48 hours.
Speaking about the situation, Kupriyanov stressed that Gazprom expressed extreme disappointment with “Moldova’s failure to fulfill its contractual obligations”.
