The EU needs €565 billion by the end of this decade to switch to green energy and completely abandon energy supplies from Russia, Bloomberg writes.

At the heart of the idea is the digitalization of energy to ensure the exchange of data on electricity use in the European Union from 2024. At the same time, the region's energy markets will become more flexible.

Initially, by 2027 the countries will have to provide all commercial and public buildings with solar panels, and by 2029 also residential buildings.

In five years, the EU is going to install about 10 million heat pumps, and by 2030 to switch about 30 million cars to zero carbon dioxide emissions.

The European Commission is preparing to publish its final plan for this transition on September 28 this year.
