Trade turnover between Russia and Kyrgyzstan increased by 30% in January-April. This was reported in the Ministry of Economy of Kyrgyzstan.
Trade turnover between the countries reached $1 billion in the first four months of this year, in 2023 it was equal to $3 billion. The growth amounted to 30%.
The ministry attributes this trend, among other things, to cooperation within the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU).
Russia is one of Central Asia's main trading partners in basic sectors of the economy, despite the sanctions, Izvestia wrote.
Last year, Russia's trade turnover with Central Asian countries was above $44 billion. Russia accounts for 33% of all foreign trade in the macro-region.
Nearly 24 thousand companies with Russian capital operate in Central Asia. The volume of accumulated investments exceeded 38 billion dollars.
