Real wages fell by almost 30% in Russia

Experts have recorded a decline in real wages in Russia.

In January 2021 real wages increased by 0.1% compared with the same  month last year. At the same time values have decreased by 28.9% when compared with December. This is reported by Rosstat.

It is worth recalling, real wage is the average accrued wage adjusted for inflation. Thus, the average monthly wage in the Russian Federation in nominal terms amounted to 49,516 rubles in January 2021. That is 5.3% more than in January 2020.

By the way, the Russian government predicts that the real wages of Russians will increase by an average of 2.2% at the end of 2021.
