The company plans to expand the number of local sellers by at least a hundred thousand.
The press service of Ozon Global announced the opening of a representative office in southern China, the office will appear in Shenzhen, Guangdong province.
China is considered a key destination for Ozon Global. Sellers from this country account for more than 90% of the range of goods in the online store Ozon. Ten thousand sellers already work on the platform, but the company plans to increase this number.
Opening an office in Shenzhen will attract more than one hundred thousand sellers from China and increase the turnover of local goods through Ozon tenfold by 2024.
According to the press release, Simon Huang will head the Chinese office. He has extensive experience in e-commerce, including in major countries such as the U.S., India and China.
"Our primary goal is to provide Chinese sellers with a quality service to enter and scale sales on the Russian marketplace. I hope that my experience in cross-border sales will allow to bring Ozon's business in the region to a new level and become one of the leading platforms for orders from China to Russia," RIA Novosti quoted Simon Huang as saying.
Recall that Ozon Global opened a representative office in Turkey in August this year.
