Russia will see an increase in electricity tariffs.Indexation by 12.6% is planned from July 1, and a year later - by another 9.3%. This was announced by the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Construction and Housing Vladimir Koshelev.
According to the forecasts of the Ministry of Economic Development voiced by Koshelev, the growth of tariffs for the population will continue: from July 2027 - by 6.9%, and from July 2028 - by 4.9%.
The deputy explained to RIA “Novosti” the expected rise in prices by the need to increase investment in the creation of new generating capacities and the increase in the tariff for the transportation of electricity.
Koshelev also noted that in 2022, according to the Ministry of Energy, more than half of territorial grid organizations (TGOs) in Russia did not have investment development programs. Many of them did not meet the reliability requirements, but at the same time received significant revenues. Therefore, a decision was made to reduce the number of TGOs and establish clear compliance criteria. At the moment, there are 619 eligible organizations left.
According to Koshelev, control over the activities of TGOs will be strengthened.
From the beginning of 2025 in the regions will be identified systemically important TGO, which will be involved in the consideration of investment programs of grid companies and will serve as a “single window” for payment for electricity transmission services.
