On Friday, December 16, it became known that the Bank of Russia left the key rate unchanged at 7.5%.
The level of the key rate has remained unchanged since September this year, the Russian regulator said.
Also, the central bank said that demand remains restrained and the growth rate is moderate. Meanwhile, inflation expectations of the population and businesses, though not changing significantly, remain inflated.
The Central Bank stressed that in the future it will decide on changing the key rate based on the current and expected inflation dynamics, as well as the restructuring of the economy. Of course, risks from internal and external conditions and reactions of financial markets will be taken into account.
