Germany, Lithuania, Belgium, the Czech Republic and Poland were the main exporters of the beverage.
Beer exports from the European Union to Russia reached the maximum since August last year and amounted to 23 million euros. In August 2023 supplied 28.2 thousand tons of beer for 25.9 million euros.

In April, the EU exported 27.5 thousand tons of beer to Russia for 23.1 million euros. This is 17% more than in March in physical terms and 13% in monetary terms.
The beverage was mainly supplied by Germany (8.5 million euros), with Lithuania in second place with 4 million euros. In third place is Belgium, which sold €3.2 million worth of beer and pushed the Czech Republic (€3 million) into fourth place. The top five is rounded off by Poland with shipments worth 2.1 million euros.
At the same time, the supplies of European wine to Russia decreased by 18% - to 63.2 million euros.
Italy remained the main supplier, but sales decreased almost 1.8 times - to 19.9 million euros.
Latvia, on the contrary, increased exports 1.7 times, up to Br15.3 million.
In third place among the main suppliers of alcohol - Lithuania (€10.4 million).
Earlier it was written that in Germany voters were lured to the elections with free beer. Elections were held in the city of Duisburg on June 6-9.
