Bloomberg: Russians led the top 5 non-residents in property purchases in Dubaiс

In 2022, the Russians were the leaders among non-resident countries in buying real estate in Dubai.

As Bloomberg reports with reference to brokerage Betterhomes, last year in Dubai, 86 thousand real estate transactions were recorded, and beat a record 13 years ago, when in 2009 in this emirate was made 80 thousand real estate transactions.

It is noted that in 2022 the amount of real estate transactions in Dubai amounted to about 208 billion dirhams ($ 56.6 billion). That is almost 80% more than in 2021. 

Betterhomes said the Russians began buying square footage in Dubai after the military announced the start of a special operation last February. Since then, real estate prices and the number of transactions have become record-breaking amid geopolitical and economic situations in other countries.

Bloomberg noted that the Chinese citizens were left out last year due to severe coronavirus restrictions.
