Sberbank ranks 51st in Forbes ranking

The Global 2000 ranking presents the world's largest public companies according to Forbes magazine. It includes companies from 61 countries, ranked according to four indicators: sales, revenues, assets and market value.

Sberbank has risen to 51st place in the ranking, and 1st among Russian companies. In 2020, the bank was 402nd in the overall ranking and 6th among Russian companies.

Commenting on the situation, Sberbank CEO Herman Gref said that the coronavirus pandemic, related changes in consumer behaviour and the fall in oil prices have threatened the development of entire sectors of the Russian economy.

The top three Russian companies were also Rosneft (99th in the global ranking) and Surgutneftegaz (309th).
