Production of chocolate and packaged products containing cocoa increased in Russia in the first two months of 2024. Manufacturers produced 161.7 tons of products, which is 8.9% higher than in the same period last year. This was reported by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation.

Representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture added that overall production of confectionery products since the beginning of the year increased by 9.2% to 667,100 tons. Enterprises began to produce more sugar products that do not contain cocoa. The output of such products increased by 15% and for two months amounted to 120.2 thousand tons.

The main factors of production growth are called the increase in exports and stable demand in the Russian market.

Earlier gastroenterologist Irina Berezhnaya warned Russians against excessive consumption of chocolate. According to the specialist, the norm of consumption for an adult is 10 grams of the treat per day.
