Vladimir Putin does not exclude oil prices could go up to $100 a barrel

Vladimir Putin did not rule out a rise in oil prices up to $ 100 per barrel. He announced this at the plenary session of the Russian Energy Week forum.

"It's quite possible. At the moment it is getting more expensive," Vladimir Putin said in response to a question about whether he expects the cost of oil to reach $100 a barrel.

The head of state said that Russia and the OPEC+ partners are doing everything necessary to stabilize the oil market. Moscow is fulfilling all its obligations to reduce oil production, although, as the Russian president stressed, these decisions are not easy for the economy and companies.

As of 3:47 p.m. Moscow time on October 13, the price of December futures for Brent oil was $82.84 a barrel and for WTI oil was $80.08 a barrel, according to information from the Intercontinental Exchange ICE.
