Gas prices in Europe rose above $1,300 per thousand cubic meters in Monday's trading. The relevant data was recorded by ICE.
The January gas futures price on the TTF hub in the Netherlands was $1381 per 1,000 cubic meters. After that, the price increase slowed to $1358 per thousand cubic meters, which is 8.25% more than the estimated price on Friday. Experts say this was the first time since October when the price was $1,300.
According to "Kommersant", the increase in natural gas prices occurred against the backdrop of the recent statement made by the head of the German Foreign Ministry Annalena Berbock about the impossibility to put Nord Stream - 2 into operation due to non-compliance with the regulations of the European Union.
