The Ministry of Agriculture has urged entrepreneurs not to allow meat prices to rise. This statement was made by Deputy Head of the Ministry Maxim Titov. This was reported in the press service of the department.
According to Titov, it is important that meat products were affordable for Russians. Businessmen said that they are working to ensure a stable situation in the market. They said that now there is a seasonal increase in meat prices, which is typical for summer. By the fall they will go down.
In May, meat products increased in price by 0.5-3%.
In Russia, meat consumption is 80 kg per person. In the world the figure is 40-42 kg. Russia is in fourth place in the world in meat production and provides itself with 100% of its meat products.
