Russia's elevator fleet is in a state of disrepair and requires urgent renewal. The problem should be solved by the government program for replacement of elevators.
Mass replacement of obsolete elevators should begin in Russia will decide in the coming years according to the government program. This was told to the portal "360" by the head of the All-Russian Center for Construction Policy Alexander Moore.
"The replacement of elevator equipment will be carried out as part of a phased reconstruction of the entire housing and utilities system. The equipment is planned to buy from its own manufacturers and in friendly countries," - says the expert.
According to Alexander Moor, the housing and utilities sector has been neglected for decades. The situation began to change in a positive direction only in recent years.
Now there is money in the budget for a complete renovation of the industry, which will finally put the economy in order. The task is not to look for the extreme and the guilty for the fact that something does not work somewhere. There are supervisory bodies for that. The constructive goal is to find solutions and implement them promptly.
As for the equipment, Russian manufacturers have increased capacity after the introduction of sanctions, and today they are quite able to cope with the tasks of import substitution. Also, the necessary number of elevators will be supplied by friendly countries, such as China and Belarus.
In Moscow alone in 2024, 2334 houses will be overhauled. Workers will replace 2,642 elevators in high-rise buildings, Alexander Moore added.
