Export prices for Australian coking coal, an international benchmark, have collapsed to their lowest in eight months.
As reported by Vedomosti, citing the industry agency Metals & Mining Intelligence (MMI), the decline was recorded in February. Prices for batches of low-volatile premium coal further declined by 37%, to $232 per tonne.
As a result, export prices for Russian coal also fell sharply against this trend. According to Gazprombank's Price Index Centre (PIC), GZh coal quotations collapsed by a quarter to $174 between February and April.
