Russia to increase gold reserve in 2023

This is the fifth result in the world. China is in the lead.

The G20 countries increased gold reserves by 213 tonnes in 2023. The calculations are cited by RIA Novosti, citing data from national central banks.

Russia has increased its gold reserve to 2,351 tonnes. This is the fifth result in the world.

China is in the lead with 224 tonnes. The Celestial Empire's reserves increased to 2,236 tonnes. Then comes Australia, which increased its reserves by a third - 21 tonnes - to 77.5 tonnes of gold.

In the third line is India with 804 tonnes (+17 tonnes). Mexico bought about 1 tonne of gold and now has 121 tonnes. France increased its reserves to 2,437 tonnes (+0.3 tonnes).

Turkey (-60 tonnes) and Germany (-2.5 tonnes) saw their gold reserves fall. The countries retained 726.5 and 3,356 tonnes respectively.

The USA still remains the leader in terms of gold reserves. The country has 8,133 tonnes.

The gold reserves of Italy (2,452 tonnes), Japan (846 tonnes) and the UK (310 tonnes) remained unchanged.

Among emerging market countries, Saudi Arabia (323 tonnes), South Korea (104.5 tonnes) have the most gold. Brazil has 130 tonnes of gold, Indonesia has 79 tonnes and Argentina has 62 tonnes.

Canada has no gold reserves.

Earlier it was written that Russia's gold reserves reached a record $155.9 billion at the end of 2023.

By the way, it is planned to limit the export of gold from the country by Russians.
