Last year, food prices increased by 28.1% on average. Such calculations were made by experts from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.
As noted, the increase was the most significant in recent years: prices rose for all major groups of agricultural products, not just grain and oil.
As for Russia, the food inflation in our country, according to Kommersant, was apparently significantly lower than the global one.
The results of last year showed that food prices rose by 28.1%. The index averaged 125.7 points for the year, while by the end of December it was at 133.7 points, which is 0.9% less than in November, but still 23.1% higher than in December 2021.
In this regard, Food and Agricultural Organization analysts warn: the market is unlikely to come to a stable state this year, even taking into account "high costs, the ongoing pandemic and unclear climatic conditions.
