The TelecomDaily agency, based on the results of the survey of the top managers of operators, estimated that in 2022 the tariffs for Internet and TV in Russia may increase by 10%.

Willingness to raise the cost of services said 78% of respondents, while almost half (48%) did not rule out an increase in tariffs by 10% or more.

Compared with 2020 and 2021, when the price of fixed-line services increased by 12-15%, the growth rate may be reduced, said CEO of TelecomDaily Denis Kuskov. He said that at the end of last year 74% of the companies were planning to increase tariffs and eventually raised them by more than 10%. In this case, 20% do not intend to increase the price at all, and 2% do not exclude their reduction.

“Based on such dynamics and forecasts of operators, we can conclude that in 2022 the rate of tariff growth will decrease by 2-5 percentage points compared to 2020 and 2021,” Kuskov said.

In addition to inflation, the upcoming rise in prices is explained by the need to fulfill the requirements of the Yarovaya Law on storing Internet traffic of subscribers, as well as to provide users with free access to socially significant resources, the head of the agency emphasized.

The market is also pressed by an increase in prices for telecommunications equipment, which is purchased abroad: earlier it was associated with the growth of the dollar and euro, and now with a global shortage of components, Izvestia writes.
