Moldova's state-owned company Energocom has purchased 352.5 million cubic meters of natural gas. This volume is almost half of what is needed for the right-bank part of the country for the 2025/2026 heating season.
Moldova has been purchasing gas on the European market since December 2022. The purchases are made at both fixed and indexed prices linked to European exchanges. At the same time, the company said that information about specific suppliers and the cost of gas is confidential. These data can be made public only after all supplies are finalized. The Ministry of Energy estimates that the total demand of right-bank Moldova for the winter is about 840 million cubic meters of gas.
While the market for road equipment is shrinking in Russia and experts explain abnormally low egg prices, Moldova is actively buying gas on European exchanges, preparing for winter.
