Gazprom resumes gas supplies to Kaliningrad via Lithuania

Gazprom has resumed gas transit through Lithuania. Kaliningrad already receives Russian hydrocarbons.

"Gas supplies resumed on the night of Wednesday, February 10. Transit is carried out according to the normal mode", - informed a representative of a Lithuanian gas transmission system operator Amber Grid, Laura Shebeke.

Alexander Rolbinov, Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Kaliningrad Region, informed that gas transit had been restored. He also emphasized that the region had switched to pipeline gas.

Governor of the Kaliningrad Region Anton Alikhanov said that the suspension of gas supplies from Russia was due to "testing the system in the loaded mode at full capacity". Today, there is enough gas reserves for 18 days, the regional governor noted.

Suspension of gas transit from Russia to Kaliningrad via Lithuania took place on February 9. "Gazprom continued to supply natural gas directly to the Baltic state.
