The Baltic countries are negotiating an increase in electricity imports from Russia and Belarus. This information came from the representative of the Estonian system operator Elering Ain Kester.
Kester, in a conversation with the ERR portal, said that recently representatives of Estonia held negotiations with colleagues from Lithuania, and they will continue in the coming days.
He also noted that before that Latvia and Estonia had made a decision to reduce the volume of electricity imports from Russia, which happened, first of all, in accordance with the wishes of Lithuania.
"And now it's really time to discuss whether this, figuratively speaking, tap can be opened again a little bit more," summarized Kester. He added that it's hard to give exact numbers at this point.
