Gas supplies from Russia to Latvia resumed on August 5

Supplies of Russian gas to Latvia, which had been suspended on July 30 because of violations of the conditions of raw material withdrawal, were resumed on August 5.

According to the European Network of Transmission System Operators (ENTSOG) platform, on Friday, August 5, about 2.9 million cubic meters of natural gas per day arrived in Latvia through the Luhamaa gas metering station (GMS).

The last gas supplies through this point were made on July 29.

The volume of gas supplied via GIS Luhamaa in the next two days amounted to about 3.8-4.1 million cubic meters of gas per day.

Gas supplies from Russia to Latvia go through Estonia and pass through Luhamaa GIS.

"Gazprom announced on July 30 that it was halting energy supplies to Latvia as part of its July bid amid violations of the conditions of gas withdrawal. Latvian gas transport operator Conexus then also confirmed the suspension of gas supplies from Russia as of July 30.
