US national debt increased by $7 trillion under Trump

During the 2016 campaign, Trump promised to pay this amount. Now it exceeds $27 trillion.

The state debt of the United States for the presidency of Donald Trump exceeded $27 trillion. At the end of January 2017 - it was then that Trump took office - this figure was $20 trillion.

This was reported by CBS.

Journalists studied documents from the U.S. Department of the Treasury and came to the conclusion that the public debt will increase continuously at a high pace - mainly due to the need to stimulate the economy, which suffered due to the pandemic.

Thus, to date, the federal authorities have allocated over six trillion to stabilize the economy - this amount also includes the steps taken by the Federal Reserve.

We remind that Trump promised to pay the debt in the 2016 campaign thanks to reforms and revision of trade agreements with other countries.
