Over the summer, Russia supplied about 1.35 billion kWh to China.
The Russian Energy Ministry expects electricity exports from Russia to China to grow by 20 percent by the end of this year compared to last year, Ministry head Nikolai Shulginov said.
"The growth [will be] by the end of the year by 20 percent compared to last year," TASS quoted Shulginov, who is now in Vladivostok at the Eastern Economic Forum, as saying.
Recall that between January and July of this year, electricity supplies to China were increased by 70 percent, to 2.6 billion kWh, amid the abnormal heat wave. Since the beginning of August, the growth may amount to 13%.
