According to him, the national currency is expected to stabilize by the end of this year with a tendency to strengthening.
During a press conference on the results of the meeting of the Supervisory Board of Sberbank Herman Gref said that the fundamental ruble exchange rate at the moment is 85-90 per one US dollar. At the same time, he said that one should expect the national currency to strengthen in the near future.
"The fundamental rate of the ruble is within the range of 85-90 rubles, so somewhere around these figures the ruble should be, well, 90 plus or minus," he explained.
According to him, Sberbank does not expect that the ruble can seriously deviate from these values. In addition, Gref said that by the end of this year can be predicted stabilization of the national currency with a tendency to strengthen its rate.
Earlier, Maxim Timoshenko, head of the department of operations on financial markets of the Russian Standard Bank, said that a number of factors still support the ruble, but a strong strengthening of the Russian currency is not expected due to the inconsistency of the country's budget policy.
