The refusal of Japan and South Korea to supply Russian coal was reported by Anna Tsivilyova, chairman of the board of directors of coal mining company Kolmar.
The expert noted that the Russian coal market is mostly oriented to the Asia-Pacific region. However, the abandonment of trade cooperation with Russia by the two major countries will not be detrimental for Russia because, according to Tsivilyova, "we have good prospects for coal supplies to India. They are due to the fact that Australia and Indonesia have now switched to the European market".
In addition, Tsivilieva said that China currently buys almost 90 percent of Russian coal. Therefore, the Russian coal market needs diversification.
