About 20 oil tankers couldn't get through the Turkish territorial waters amid Ankara's claims for insurance coverage after the Russian oil price limit came into effect on December 5.
According to journalists of The Financial Times, Turkish authorities are waiting for information from seafarers about the full insurance coverage of maritime traffic.
According to the statistics of sea brokers, oil traders and satellite images, 19 tankers are "stuck" in the Bosporus and Dardanelles straits.
At this time the Turkish Ministry of Transport doesn't officially comment the situation.
We remind that on December 5 the decision of the EU, G7 and Australia on limiting the prices of Russian energy carriers transported by sea came into force. The initiators of the embargo on oil from Russia fixed the ceiling price at around 60 dollars per barrel.
