Italian energy company Eni confirmed on Wednesday, October 5, the resumption of gas supplies from Russia.

According to a report on the company's website, this was possible after Eni and the parties concerned settled the issues of restrictions from the new rules of the Austrian regulatory authorities.

Before that Gazprom itself said that it came to a consensus with the buyers of gas in Italy and transit of fuel through Austria will be resumed.

Recall that starting from October 1 Eni fixed "zero" supplies of gas from Russia, and the head of the company Claudio Descalzi said that this decision "is not motivated by geopolitical reasons".

He also pointed to the impossibility to give up gas from Russia at the moment, despite all the efforts of Rome to reduce dependence on Russian energy carriers.
