In July of this year, 42% of Russian industrial enterprises reported a shortage of personnel. As a result, it turned out that this level of staff shortage was the highest since 1996.
According to RBC, experts from the laboratory of conjunctural surveys of the Gaidar Institute for Economic Policy (IEP) have recorded that in July this year, 42% of Russian industrial enterprises felt a shortage of personnel. It turned out that the staff shortage in question was the highest since July 1996. That year, in April, 35% of respondents reported a shortage of workers. In total, about 1 thousand managers of industrial enterprises were interviewed.
The publication also notes that the staff shortage was already mentioned in January 2022. And by October 2022, 33% of respondents reported about this problem. As for the reasons for the aggravation of this problem, the experts name sanctions, intensification of the state defense order, as well as partial mobilization among them.
The IEP study also states that it is most difficult to find qualified workers. The problem is aggravated by the fact that it takes time to train such personnel.
