Domestic bakery companies have noted a noticeable increase in flour prices caused by the rise in grain prices amid unfavorable weather and crop forecasts. This is reported by RBC with reference to the data of the National Union of Baking (NUB).

Many bakery enterprises received notifications about the upcoming price rise to 29-30 rubles per kilogram of wheat flour of the highest grade in June in the second half of May. The cost of this product has increased by several rubles per kilogram at once, while the price has risen by an average of 30% or more in two weeks, reported in the NCA.

At the same time, the Russian Union of Flour and Cereal Enterprises argue that the situation with flour prices on the market is not as critical as it is presented in the National Union of Baking. The flour mills stated that such price hikes are usually short-term.

The RF Ministry of Agriculture also considers the situation in this sphere stable. According to the agency, since the end of last year wheat flour has risen in price by 2.9%.

It became known that in Nizhny Novgorod region bakeries suspend their work due to the rise in flour prices.
