Thus, imports of spirits in the Russian Federation fell by 34.4%. Indicators recorded at the end of the first half of 2022 compared to the same period last year. According to Kommersant, this trend was due to the anti-Russian sanctions.
Most of all the decline in imports affected the supply of whiskey. Supplies of this alcoholic beverage fell to 11.8 million liters (48.4%). Imports of vodka from abroad dropped to 965.5 thousand liters (41.7%), while liquor - to 2.25 million liters (36.6%).
Imports of tinctures and tequila decreased by 34.5% to 4.83 million liters. The supply of foreign rum fell by 1.8%, to 2.89 million liters.
