The premiere of the new generation of the Duster crossover, which is announced as the next chapter in the history of this bestseller, has taken place. The car will be presented on the market under the brands Dacia and Renault, depending on the country of sale, writes "RG".
The dimensions of the new Duster are 4.34 meters in length, 1.81 meters in width and 1.66 meters in height. Although the size of the wheelbase was not specified, but it is promised that the second row of seats has become more spacious by 30 mm. The trunk has been increased to 472 liters and the roof will be able to carry cargo weighing up to 80 kg.
The car has received a technological platform CMF-B, which makes it similar to the Lada Iskra, and it is also expected to be used in the new Lada Niva model with significant improvements. The Duster features a mild hybrid based on a 1.2-liter turbocharged 130 hp engine, available in both front-wheel and all-wheel drive, with a 6-speed manual transmission.
The Duster Hybrid model has a 1.6-liter 140 hp atmospheric engine that includes a starter-generator, electric motor and a three-shaft transmission. This crossover can start off electrically and gradually switch to the engine depending on speed. Hybrid owners are expected to drive on electricity up to 80% of the time.
The third powertrain option, the Duster Eco-G 100, runs on liquefied natural gas, providing a range of up to 1,300 kilometers in combined mode. The all-wheel drive system adds Auto, Snow, Dirt/Sand, Off-road and Eco modes, as well as a downhill speed control system that activates even at reverse speed.
The basic interior includes an analog dashboard with a 3.5-inch screen and Dacia Mdeia Control. Higher versions get a panel with a 7-inch display and an MMC with a 10.1-inch touchscreen. Also included are wireless charging, up to four USB ports, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, electric parking brake and six airbags. Sales of the new Dacia Duster are planned for 2024.
