In Japan, an inspection has begun at the Toyota Industries Corporation plant, which is a contractor for carmaker Toyota Motor. The reason for the inspection was suspected falsification of data on the power of diesel engines. The information about this came from the automaker itself.
The authorities are conducting an extensive investigation, including on-site inspections, to identify possible problems within the company. Appropriate action will be taken based on the results of the inspection.
Toyota Motor's suspicions relate to tampering with diesel engine test results. Power measurements used software different from that used in the mass production of the engines.
The violations identified concern three engine models used in 10 vehicle models distributed worldwide. These include the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, Land Cruiser 300, Fortuner and Hilux pickup SUVs.
Six production lines at four factories have been suspended as a result of the diesel engine testing violations found.
The Jaecoo J8 crossover will also be presented in Russia.
