Analysts of the portal «Avito.Avto» said that the Russian market has significantly increased demand for right-hand drive cars made in Japan.
Most of the cars imported through Vladivostok are right-hand drive, 40% of them can be considered almost new - they are less than three years old.
The massive demand for right-hand drive vehicles from Japan was provoked by the depreciation of the yen against the ruble, which has lost 30% since February. Customs duties and transportation costs are negligible. So, a right-hand drive Toyota Corolla can cost 200-300 thousand rubles less than the exact same left-hand drive car.
The configuration of right-hand drive cars is richer than analogues, and the disadvantages are not so significant. The only negative is the inconvenience when overtaking on the highway. Also, when buying such cars, it is necessary to avoid "constructors" that were assembled from several cars.
