Avtodom Holding, which owns the former Mercedes-Benz plant in the Moscow region, intends to launch production of cars under its own brand.
CEO and co-owner Andrei Olkhovsky said that the company plans to produce up to eight models.
“We have already restarted the plant and started test assembly of cars. In the near future we plan to conduct technical expertise and certification to start sales and deliver our cars to consumers as soon as possible,” he said.
Also by the end of the year, Avtodom plans to form a network of dealers to sell cars produced at the plant near Moscow and sign contracts with them, bringing all sales points to brand standards.
“We are confident that we will have time to do all this this year. We will provide all the information in official releases,” Olkhovsky added.
The plant is expected to produce 30,000 cars in 2024. In the future, the company plans to localize the production of components under a special investment contract with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, including the development of its own line of auto parts.
